Data Transfer with Prefetching on Hot-Spotted Network

In the future, wireless access networks will diversify, and they are quite different in their characteristics. Especially we focus on hot-spotted network that indicates high-speed wireless radio link and very limited communication area due to its spotted cell. A mobile user cannot continuously communicate on hot-spotted network be-cause its cells are intermittently configured. In this paper, we present Proactive Data Transfer in which a mobile user sends his data requests through cellular network in advance and the data is prefetched in prefetch agent located in hot-spotted network. With proactive data transfer, the data can be downloaded as soon as the user enters into the cell of hot-spotted networks, and as a result, network resources are utilized efficiently. Experimental results show the effects of proactive data transfer.
